Twenty-five Years Club - 1945

As a newcomer to the Staff, I have been much impressed by the steady stream of Old Students visiting the School to pay their respects to my colleagues. Hardly a day passes without an Old Scholar dropping in for a chat - a sure indication of the happy atmosphere in the School and of the affection with which the Staff are regarded.

All these friends, and many others whose circumstance will not allow them to visit us, will be interested to hear of a Staff Party, in May of last year, to celebrate the twenty-five years' service of Miss Silk, Miss Foster, Miss Mitchell, Miss Tate, Miss Taylor and Mr.Callister. Their late colleagues Miss Atkins, Mrs Batey, Miss Buchan, Miss Marshall, Miss Paddison, Mr Davies and Mr Dudley were able to attend, and we were pleased to have Mrs Northeast with us. A merry, though temperate, time was enjoyed by all.

The flowers, provided by Mrs Northeast for table decoration, were sent to Mr Head who was even then to ill to attend.

Since then Miss Dixon and Miss Hutchinson have joined the ranks of the "twenty-five-year-olds".

I am sure all Old Scholars and present pupils would wish me, on their behalf, to say "Thank you and the Best of Luck in the future" to these who have devoted a quarter of a century of conscientious work to the welfare of the School and its pupils.
